The idea of a brand for early readers came about twenty years before Lion Heart Books was started. Children who can read far above grade level, but are not emotionally ready for older material, need easy-to-find books that suit them.

While that was the original idea, we have found writers that enjoy writing for readers of ALL ages. So while the content may include a death, it is never the focus. Instead, the focus is on overcoming impossible odds, catching criminals and making the world a little bit better.

We are dedicated to bringing readers books that are free from cursing, sex and gratuitous violence. While a murder mystery needs a dead person, we avoid gruesome descriptions. Smoking, drinking and drugs are things that the criminals may be prone to doing, but not the heros of our stories.

Some beta readers, mostly adults, disliked the material. They felt it wasn't real. Others found it refreshing. One even asked if there was more! That's when we realized that even adults sometimes want an escape that takes them to a different world, even when it's modeled after the real one. No science fiction or fantasy necessary.
